Explore an illuminated snowdrop wood this winter
Discover the beautiful woodland gardens of the
Cambo Estate, filled
with delicate white snowdrops,
aconites and snowflakes during winter.
Take a stroll in the romantic, Victorian
walled garden designed around the Cambo Burn, with willows,
waterfalls and charming wrought-iron bridges. Immerse yourself in
the 70 acres of gardens which are home to more than 300 varieties
of specialist snowdrops, the largest specialist snowdrop collection
in Scotland.
After a busy festive period, refresh your
senses in the great outdoors at Cambo’s Snowdrop Spectacular which
runs during Scotland’s Snowdrop Festival, between 1 February
and 13 March 2012. Take a walk along the established paths
which are lined with white snowdrops and watch the meadows and
woodland floors come alive under a blanket of white.
Surprise yourself by visiting the unmissable
Snowdrops by
Starlight, which runs from 11 to 19 February. As
if the 70 acres of snowdrop woods were not inspiring enough in
daylight, be sure to check out this magnificent event, the first
ever illuminated snowdrop wood. Through the excellent use of light
and music, experience the Cambo Gardens as they are transformed
into an enchanting wonderland.
