Path
Uncover wildlife, soak up stunning winter views and explore
exciting attractions by taking a walk along the Fife Coastal
Path. A walk for all seasons, this path covers an
amazing 110 miles and winds its way round almost all of the
region’s boundaries to the south, east and north.
Find fascinating flora and fauna at Fife's
National Nature Reserves (NNR). Visit the ever-changing sand dune
landscape of Tentsmuir
NNR for a chance to spot grey seals and eider ducks
out at sea. At Loch Leven
NNR you can see flocks of pink-footed geese and tufted
ducks. Explore the seaside towns dotted along the coast and
the award-winning white sand Blue Flag beaches.
Stretching from Kincardine right the way round
to the East Neuk, north up past St Andrews, and back west past the
Tay bridges, the Fife Coastal Path weaves in and out of beautiful
harbour villages and flows past historic buildings and attractions.
With the ground crisp underfoot this winter, uncover pre-historic
caves at East Wemyss, castles in St Andrews and the mighty Kinghorn
Cliffs.
Stop at The Home of Golf, St Andrews, to visit
the world-famous Royal & Ancient Golf
Club, watch seals basking in the sun and look out for
dolphins as they play off the coast. Listen to the seabirds as they
soar above the waves or uncover the East Neuk’s old cottages,
merchants' houses and stone-built harbours.
