Explore 110 miles of the Fife Coastal Path

Uncover wildlife, soak up stunning winter views and explore exciting attractions by taking a walk along the Fife Coastal Path. A walk for all seasons, this path covers an amazing 110 miles and winds its way round almost all of the region’s boundaries to the south, east and north.

Find fascinating flora and fauna at Fife's National Nature Reserves (NNR). Visit the ever-changing sand dune landscape of Tentsmuir NNR for a chance to spot grey seals and eider ducks out at sea. At Loch Leven NNR you can see flocks of pink-footed geese and tufted ducks. Explore the seaside towns dotted along the coast and the award-winning white sand Blue Flag beaches.

Stretching from Kincardine right the way round to the East Neuk, north up past St Andrews, and back west past the Tay bridges, the Fife Coastal Path weaves in and out of beautiful harbour villages and flows past historic buildings and attractions. With the ground crisp underfoot this winter, uncover pre-historic caves at East Wemyss, castles in St Andrews and the mighty Kinghorn Cliffs.

Stop at The Home of Golf, St Andrews, to visit the world-famous Royal & Ancient Golf Club, watch seals basking in the sun and look out for dolphins as they play off the coast. Listen to the seabirds as they soar above the waves or uncover the East Neuk’s old cottages, merchants' houses and stone-built harbours.
