Gallop along a Hebridean beach on horseback
Capture the beauty of the Outer Hebrides in
the bright winter sun, as you enjoy a horse ride along the glorious
sands of Coll beach.
The Uist Community Riding
School is based on the Isle of Benbecula and
offers horse riding trips along beautiful stretches of sand. Splash
through the surf, breath in the fresh sea air and soak up the
magical scenery of the Hebrides. If the weather is a little
temperamental, there is also an Indoor School. With around 20
horses of varying sizes, the school caters for everyone and even
has activities for the under fives.
Outdoor enthusiasts will find lots of
adventure sports
and activities to do on the isles. Scotland's
reputation as a world-class sea kayaking destination is growing
fast and the Uist Outdoor
Centre has opportunities for both experts and
beginners. Paddle in some of the most beautiful waters in Scotland,
along the Hebridean cliffs, around crags and sea stacks, and see
wildlife like seals and seabirds.
The centre also provides opportunities for
rock climbing, abseiling, power boat trips and multi activity days.
The instructors at the centre are ready and up for the challenge
but please check ahead as activities are dependent
on Scotland's winter weather.
For something a little more
relaxing, embark on a gentle cycle with the family
stopping to take in the views and appreciate these beautiful
Hebridean beaches.
