Art in the park: a surprising day out in Glasgow
There are so many great days out in Scotland this winter,
whether you want to go to big visitor attractions, try out an
activity or just get out and about in wide open spaces. Well, you
can do all of these with our suggestion for a truly surprising day
out.
If you are interested in getting active and getting out in the
countryside, check out our cycle
routes search on our Active website, where you can
find lots of ideas of places to go for a fun day out on two wheels.
One of these routes is a particular favourite of ours, as it gets
you out in lovely green spaces, yet is set in the heart of
Glasgow.
It's an easy 10-mile route through Pollok, Ross Hall &
Bellahouston Parks and taking in popular visitor attractions like
The Burrell Collection in Pollock Country Park. Take a breather
from the pedals and be amazed at this world-famous collection of
textiles, stained glass, furniture, ceramics, art objects and
pictures.
Pollock House is also open to visitors, while the formal gardens
round the house are beautiful, and great for a play and a break,
you'll be keen to get back on the bike and explore Glasgow once
more. Later on the route there’s a very famous house that art
lovers will love… Find out more on VisitScotland's Active website
which details this
route through Glasgow.
