Textile Towerhouse. This lovingly restored 16th
century tower house features interactive hands-on exhibitions and
exciting displays along with a changing showcase of the best work
from the School of Textiles and Design and creations by top
Scottish Borders designers.
Take home beautiful garments from some of the
region’s finest manufacturers, such as luxury cashmere and Merino
wool products from Hawick
Cashmere, who have been producing high-quality
clothing since 1874. Or take a trip to Selkirk and visit Lochcarron of
Scotland to see some of their world-renowned textiles.
The company has been weaving a wide range of fantastic fabric since
1947 and has an impressive list of clients including Ralph Lauren
and Burberry. Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor even bought a
kilt here!
