songs. Immerse yourself in his life and be transported back 250
years with a visit to the Robert Burns Birthplace
Museum in Alloway. Did you know the museum is home to
the world’s most important collection of his life and works?
Glasgow is home to the stunning
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum which boasts
22-themed galleries where you can learn more about natural history,
art and armour, to name just a few.
Discover the dynamic new
Riverside Museum, Scotland’s Museum of Transport and
Travel and explore the world of planes, trains and automobiles, as
well as bicycles, boats and much more.
In Edinburgh the flagship National
Museum of Scotland, which reopened in July 2011
following a multi-million pound revamp, has a fantastic array of
exhibits spread across 36 galleries. From the skeleton of a T-Rex
to ancient Egyptian mummies and the musical Millennium Clock, there
are thousands of exhibits to keep you entertained and inspired for
hours.
Further east, at the Museum of
Flight at East Fortune, you can learn about the rich
history of aviation and step aboard a real life Concord.
The refurbished Scottish
National Portrait Gallery boasts a fascinating
collection of portraiture exhibits, which can be enjoyed at
leisurely pace in the beautifully restored Victorian Gothic
building.
