which is readily available from weekly Farmers’
Markets. Whether you are heading north to the isle of
Orkney or south to the Scottish Borders, discover some wonderful

Set in front of the magnificent St Magnus Cathedral,
Kirkwall Farmers’ Market takes place on the
last Saturday of every month. Organic vegetables, herbs, local fish
and beef are readily available and you can also buy local soaps and
shampoos. Sample Orkney's well-known Highland Park whisky
and the wonderful
ales, such as the infamously-named Skullsplitter.
Set in some of the most picturesque scenery in Scotland is the
Cairngorms
Farmers’ Market which is held in different locations

the Cairndow and
Loch Fyne Farmers' Market held on every fourth
Saturday of the month in the famous Loch Fyne Restaurant. After
picking up freshly-caught fish and other local specialties from the
stalls you can treat yourself to a platter of renowned Loch Fyne
oysters in the restaurant for a special fine-dining experience.
Visit an award-winning farmers’ market with
beautiful panoramic views on the shores of Loch Lomond. Loch Lomond Shores
Farmers' Market has a fantastic selection of top food and drink
producers from all over Scotland and is perfectly located at the
Loch Lomond Shores Gateway Centre which offers brilliant shopping
making the market ideal for a great day out.
In the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, built on an extinct
volcano, Scotland’s
largest Farmers’ Market hosts up to 55 producers every
Saturday. Popular with local chefs and residents alike, you too can
pick up seasonal game meats as well as delicious creamy cheeses and
some lovely organic eggs to cook up your very own culinary
feast.
Further south in
Kelso, there is a market held in the historic
town square on the fourth Saturday of each month. This is one of
Scotland's largest market squares where Bridge Street, Horsemarket,
Woodmarket and Roxburgh Street branch off. Purchase everything from
fresh produce to Alpaca wool before exploring the picturesque
town.
