Michelin star dining in Scotland
Scotland’s natural larder holds an allure for
some of the country’s most famous chefs. Indulge yourself with
Scotland’s fine dining experiences and eat at one of the country’s
16 Michelin star restaurants.
You’ll be surprised to discover that Edinburgh
only gained its first Michelin-starred eatery in 1999. Dine at the
restaurant that gave the capital this accolade -
Restaurant Martin Wishart.
Located in the historic port of Leith, you can
enjoy magical views across the water as you soak up the atmosphere
at this wonderful Michelin-starred establishment. Sample Wishart’s
signature seafood dishes including langoustine and beautiful Loch
Fyne crab before rounding things off with some delightful sweet
treats.
The Kitchin
is another excellent Michelin-starred restaurant in Edinburgh, set
up by Tom and Michaela Kitchin. Here you can enjoy some of
Scotland’s finest produce and celebrate the seasons from wonderful
fresh fruit and vegetables to delicious hand-dived scallops, duck
and lamb.
Fine dining is not confined to Scotland’s main
cities, it can also be found further afield. One of the country’s
most notable establishments is the Boath House in
Nairn, near Inverness. The breathtaking luxury hotel is home to
Chef Charles Lockley and his Michelin-star cuisine. Lockley uses
only the finest local produce available and this is reflected in
the restaurant’s six-course menu which changes daily, offering you
a fantastic choice of stunning speciality dishes.
With such a fantastic selection of fine
dining establishments across Scotland, treat yourself to
tantalising cuisine here this Autumn in some of the country’s
most memorable settings.
