Tee off in magical Moray

Take a golf break in beautiful Moray and play some of Scotland’s most scenic courses.

Moray Golf Club in lovely Lossiemouth boasts two outstanding links courses. The Old Course is an Old Tom Morris original and is, without doubt, among the best links layouts in the country.

Deep bunkers, undulating fairways flanked by gorse and smooth fast greens are the order of the day and the closing hole is one of the finest in Scotland. The New Course is a shorter, tighter affair, requiring good precision off the tee, and was designed by Henry Cotton.

Hopeman - just a few miles from Lossiemouth - is a stunning seaside course that offers incredible views of the Moray Firth. It’s worth visiting Hopeman for the experience of playing the Prieshach alone. This stunning par three by the shore features a dramatic 150 foot drop from tee to green.

Former Open champion Paul Lawrie, who often played Hopeman in his youth, rates the Prieshach as one of the finest par threes he’s ever encountered.

The beautiful course at Cullen is one of the most remarkable in the country. To say it’s quirky is an understatement. Amongst the various rocky outcrops, the 80-foot Boar Crag dominates and you are required to hit over it at the unforgettable 12th and 13th holes! As with Lossiemouth and Hopeman, the sea views at Cullen are breathtaking.

When you’re playing the great coastal courses of Moray, you should be sure to keep a look out for the much-loved dolphins of the Moray Firth.

Moray is also Malt Whisky Country and in the heart of Speyside you’ll find another golfing gem. The Dufftown course features some truly memorable holes. The 7th is one of the shortest holes in Scotland at 67 yards and invites you to hit over a gully. The 10th is an epic downhill par four that is one of Ryder Cup legend Sam Torrance’s favourite golf holes in Scotland.
