Go on a surprising safari in the Cairngorms National
Park
Why not try something entirely new this winter
on exhilarating sled-dog trips and safaris in the beautiful
snow-capped Cairngorms?
Situated near Aviemore, at the foot of the
Cairngorm Mountain Range, The Cairngorm Sleddog Centre
offers a wide range of activities, such as kennel and museum tours.
Get comfortable on a Sleddog buggy, where you will enjoy
spectacular views of the Cairngorm Mountains, or travel at night by
floodlight and spot herds of red deer roaming in the wild.
Also in the Scottish Highlands, you can see
wildlife like majestic red kites. These magnificent birds feed at
the Brahan
Estate near Dingwall, just north of Inverness. A visit
during the winter months will often reward bird-watchers with great
views from the purpose-built viewing facility at Tollie, as the red
kites are keen to take advantage of feeding opportunities.
To spot a broad range of woodland birds, take
the Hill 99
trail at Culbin. The gentle climb up Culbin’s highest
hill will provide wonderful panoramas over the Moray Firth. Hill
99, a towering wooden structure, provides an excellent viewpoint
where winter wildlife can be spotted amongst the trees. This is a
beautiful winter white walk.
